Getting started: a simple beginner routine

- Tree Pose (Vrksasana): stand on one leg, sole of opposite foot against the inner shin or thigh, hands at prayer position. Alternate sides for 5 breaths.
- Seated Forward Bend (Paschimottanasana): sit with legs extended, hinge at the hips to fold forward. Hold for 5β8 breaths.
- Corpse Pose (Savasana): lie on the back, arms relaxed, eyes closed. Rest for 5β10 minutes.
Breathwork basics
- Ujjayi breath: constrict the throat slightly to create a soft whispering sound as you inhale and exhale through the nose. Practiced for 5β10 cycles during poses.
- Equal breathing (Sama Vritti): inhale for a count of four, exhale for a count of four. Repeat for 1β2 minutes.
- Diaphragmatic breathing: place one hand on the abdomen, inhale to fill the belly, exhale fully. Practice for 5 minutes daily.

- Sun Salutation A (modified): Mountain β Upward Reach β Forward Fold β Halfway Lift β Plank β Downward Dog β Repeat 3β5 rounds with mindful breath.
- Easy Lengthen: Cat-Cow stretches, Childβs Pose, Thread the Needle, Sphinx Pose, legs up the wall for gentle release.
- Hip opener flow: Bound Angle Pose (Baddha Konasana), Reclined Pigeon, Supine Twist, Savasana.
