Cooking Recipe: Classic Tomato Pasta

A quick, comforting pasta dish bright tomato sauce garlic, and fresh basil. Perfect for weeknights adaptable to pantry staples.

Ingredients

  • 200 g (7 oz spaghetti or your preferred pasta
    -2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz / 400 g) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves, tornoptional-ated Parmesan or pecorino cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions al dente Reserve 1/2 cup of cooking water, then drain.
  2. While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté 1–2 minutes fragrant and lightly golden—careful not to burn.
  3. Stir in tomatoes oregano. Simmer gently 6– minutes allowing the flavors meld. Season salt and pepper.
  4. Add the cooked pasta to the sauce tossing to coat. If the sauce is too thick, splash in a little the pasta water to reach desired consistency.
