Classic Creamy Garlic Pasta

Ingredients

  • 200 g spaghetti
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan
  • Salt freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil Add the spaghetti and cook according to package directions until alente. Reserve1/ cup of cooking water, then drain.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook for 2–3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Stir the cheese until melted and the sauce thickens. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of the reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency.
  5. Add the drained spaghetti to the. Toss to evenly with the sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Garnish with chopped parsley, using. Serve immediately.

Tips

  • For extra brightness, add a of lemon juice just before serving.
  • Swap in half-and-half for a lighter version, though sauce may be thinner.
